Strange Money Alternatives.

With the current state of affairs worldwide the value of your currency is fast dropping, you have considerably less buying power.
It seems some people have started using alternatives to cash, while their situations might have forced them to adapt to alternatives, it works well for them and might even give us ideas to implement as things progress.

Cocaine
In a place called Guerima in Colombia, in an effort to try and curb its drug trade, the government has deployed the army to remote areas to block access to places where cocaine is grown and processed i.e. Guerima.
So now, with no one to sell their 'cash crop' to they have a stockpile of cocaine and no money, so they have decided to simply replace cash with cocaine. The inhabitants use it to conduct transactions amongst themselves.

Urine
This strange alternative to money is used in the prison system; they have been known to use cigarettes, sardine cans and now urine. This has become a precious commodity because drug screening has become much more prominent in penitentiaries. Clean samples are traded and they are usually kept in a condom and warmed to body temperature by rectal insertion.

Bottle Caps
In the African republic of Cameroon bottle caps are used as a form of currency, but it isn’t as backward as you think, as with local breweries and soft drink companies, in Cameroon they print prizes below the bottle caps (Cameroon local beer company). Unlike companies here, in Cameroon almost every other bottle cap has a prize, the cheapest prize being a free beer.
Locals have started paying for things like taxi fares, bribes even everyday items with bottle caps.
